Never give up on the dream.
You Got Me Wrong
Cathryn Beeks '07

you got me wrong if you think I've been drinking
I'm always unstable, I'm barely able at times
to speak my mind w/o breaking down

you got someting to say?  Ok,
I am listening you can just say it
You are through playing around, you want out
you don't wanna stay

you got me wrong I'm not mad at all
between you and me, I know that you know
that I know that you have to leave

so this aint the end, my friend
I will see you on so many stages
all through the ages I'll be the one
that everyone mistakes for you

I know that you know that I know you're crazy
At a time when she was living in Murrieta and playing in 27 different bands in San Diego, Marcia Claire made the difficult decision to quit several projects.
Not Your Mom became a victim of that circumstance but I wasn't mad at all.
RIP NYM.
Why I Play Cathryn Beeks '07

the light in the morning don't suit me, I never feel right until noon
and traffic just makes me feel empty everyone's in such a goddamn hurry
sunlight streetlights options, working the bad side of town, but it's drunks or a florescent workspace, please don't ever make me go back to that place

working only gets me so far anymore, wear yourself worn forget what your working for beliveing in a dream that will take you all the way
that's why I play

the stories add up while you're waiting, time just drags you along
but you never lose your inspiration cause failure makes such a great song
try not to let it get to you, take deep breaths and keep moving on
just hope that you know when your washed up or if your best is still yet to come

it's more than a game to me, when I play I feel free, free like I don't care, play anytime anywhere, even when I was small couldn't really play at all,
I dreamed that I could be anything that I dreamed

The odds are I aint gonna make it, won't be in the right place on time
but I will die trying to get there cause it's the only thing I can do right
When You Go Cathryn Beeks '06

I never met a town I didn't like
and I've been traveling most my life
long trips and open roads
that's what makes my blood flow

All those crazy places and old friend's faces
memories that time tries erasing when you go

when you go, anywhere you travel
take a little time to let it in
cause when you roam everywhere becomes your home
you'll take a little with you when you go, When you go

When I go I like to drive
see the lay of the land and the country side
back roads dirt streets that's what apeals to me

and I like the city life with the big bright lights
people and places out all night when you go

Travel, good for the soul.
